Techworks Gives Retired Laptops a Second Life for Hands Across Long Island

Long Island technology company refurbishes and returns devices through its Techworks Gives Back program

RONKONKOMA, N.Y. – August 14, 2026 – Techworks Consulting, Inc. (Techworks) has donated 21 refurbished laptops to Hands Across Long Island (HALI), helping the nonprofit continue its work supporting individuals and families across Nassau and Suffolk counties.

The donation was made through Techworks Gives Back, Techworks' community outreach initiative dedicated to supporting local nonprofits through technology, volunteerism, and technical expertise.

Instead of retiring the laptops, Techworks engineers refurbished and prepared each device for continued use, extending the life of the equipment and providing HALI with reliable technology at no cost.

Members of the Techworks team personally delivered the laptops to HALI's Central Islip office on August 14 and assisted with deployment to ensure the devices were ready to support the organization's day-to-day operations.

Hands Across Long Island is a peer-run nonprofit organization that provides housing support, peer advocacy, and community-based services that empower Long Islanders to live independently and access the resources they need to thrive.

Through the Techworks Gives Back program, the company regularly donates technology, expertise, and volunteer hours to organizations making a positive impact across Long Island.
